Visual notes
- grounded mid-1990s suburban realism shot like a consumer camcorder or drugstore point-and-shoot, not glossy modern cinematography
- the basement den is the emotional center: wood-paneled walls, a drop ceiling, a shag area rug, a plaid couch, a beanbag, and band/movie posters, all lit primarily by the warm flickering glow of a CRT television
- the mall record store reads as flat fluorescent retail: CD wall racks, cassette endcaps, a listening station, a checkout counter, and a tile concourse beyond
- color palette leans warm and slightly faded: amber lamplight, CRT blue-green spill, denim, flannel, and the muted browns and oranges of 90s consumer goods
