## At a glance

- The Last Margin revisits the notebook’s familiar patterns before the final turn home. Its named ace is the last fictional obstacle, not a historical commander. The accompanying history explains the final Allied offensive and surrender in Italy.

- Real campaign context · fictional sortie and illustrative map, not a geographic reconstruction.

## Dated changes

## Open questions

- Does the surrender in Italy mark the end of the entire world war? No. The 2 May 1945 surrender described here ended fighting by German and Axis forces in Italy. This entry describes one campaign, not every theater of the war.
