## At a glance

- Fortress in Ink ends the island chapter with a broad second-phase barrage. Its Ink Fortress is an invented opponent in a B-25 silhouette. The real island’s history belongs to a costly campaign and should not be confused with this short arcade victory.

- Real campaign context · fictional sortie and illustrative map, not a geographic reconstruction.

## Dated changes

- 2026-10-30: Added from the named source to the Field Guide.

## Open questions

- Is the Ink Fortress a historical unit from Iwo Jima? No. The codename, aircraft matchup and two-phase battle are game fiction. The historical note supplies context for the wider theater and remembers the cost to real people.
