Despite everyone’s deep, inspired interest the market never delivered. Players never had a Transformers fighting game where you could transform when you wanted, knock parts off your opponent, and cause massive damage in a city scene. Firehawk changes that formula. You play as a classic-inspired muscle car with free transformations and an entire city to rack up damage.

The remainder of this article might appear to be nothing more than an excuse to share screen grabs of two robots fighting it out. It might even appear that I’m a big fan of robot fight clubs. Well, this title is amongst the “new thing” I’ve figured out. There’s also cinematic openers.

And it’s primarily a fighting game concept. There’s an entire city you can go explore during the combat match-a city that, frankly, I’m not sure how big it is.

How about more screenshots of robots fighting?
I’m glad you asked.

There’s win conditions, of course. Don’t die.

The transformation isn’t a quick escape like other robot transformation games. If you take too much damage and lose too many parts? Well, it’s going to be that much harder to drive away. If you have lost some wheels, then expect sparks on the asphalt.

There are a few secrets I didn’t share. One is a specialized ‘hero landing’ move that happens under the right speed and circumstances. It’s an officially scored mechanic.

I had too much fun making this project and pulled myself away. Oh, there’s also combat combos similar perhaps to MK II.
