# Folded Thunder build notes

## What it is

Folded Thunder is a complete four-stage momentum platformer built with local Three.js r185 modules. Pip, a small folded-paper dinosaur, runs across the living Foldlands to stop Mr. Blank and M.E.T.E.O.R.

M.E.T.E.O.R. stands for Meridian Engine That Enforces Ordered Reality. Mr. Blank wants to force a changing world into one perfect prediction. Pip wins by finding new routes and moving faster than the plan can hold.

## Movement

- Move with A and D or the arrow keys.
- Hold Shift while moving to build top speed.
- At eighty percent speed or faster, press Down to roll into a paper ball.
- Press Space twice to use the double-fold jump.
- Hold Down and press Space to charge a crease dash.
- Momentum carries into jumps, loops, acceleration tunnels, and long launches.

## Damage and recovery

Coins protect Pip from a hit. A collision spills up to ten coins into the stage. They can be collected again before they vanish. A hit with no coins returns Pip to the most recent checkpoint. A Fold Shield grants three seconds of protection.

## Stages

1. Accordion Valley teaches movement and ends at the Grand Cartographer.
2. Canopy Fold splits into high and low routes before Sky Scissors.
3. Ember Archive adds heat and collapsing routes before Hot Press.
4. Grand Orrery combines the movement lessons and ends at Star Wheel.

## Art and sound

Pip and the Foldlands use bright paper shapes, rough folds, and visible layers. Mr. Blank and his machines use black lacquer, brass, gold, compass marks, and rigid geometry. Pip curls into a paper wad while jumping and rolling, then unfolds when the move ends.

The final build uses local sound effects, music, paper-wind atmosphere, and sung story tracks. Bloom and speed-line intensity respond to player movement. A reduced-effects setting lowers the visual intensity.

## Production tools

The project includes character labs, momentum labs, landscape checks, boss labs, runtime diagnostics, and an AI-readable experience contract. The public overview uses the same QA controls to capture repeatable gameplay images.

## Completion boundary

The four-stage browser game and its story are complete. Mr. Blank escapes with an incomplete M.E.T.E.O.R. core as a story hook, not a promise of another build. Steam, console, or Game Boy-style work would depend on clear audience interest.
