The Ashwicke Gallery is a strange place. I’m revisiting it because of a discovery on my network. One doesn’t normally discover an AI having made photos. I stumbled upon reference pictures the AI used to build the gallery in the game build. So, I brought those photos of the gallery over to this substack photo gallery here-just with fewer killer clown shadows.
Let’s consider these gallery photos.
Each image is from an object in the Gallery. What a strange place this is.
A strange place that gets weird. The stranger things part of this story is that I didn’t prompt these. I stumbled on these photos of the Ashwicke on a completely different machine and was so stricken by them that I just knew I had to post them online. The only plausible story I have here is that 5.6sol found the endpoint while working on the models and generated these images for itself as inspiration.
One of the more peculiar photos is this photo of a woman in the gallery. This struck me as odd because all the other photos are of objects, or of a person in a painting. Who was this woman and why was she in this gallery collection? The blender object creation script never once created a person.

It’s whoever-this-is that’s at work at some sort of table. It looks like she is wiring something together, but I can’t quite be sure. Since I’m a clever man, I asked the Ai to animate the picture so I could make sense of what is going on. Perhaps the AI has a sense of humor. I’m not sure. Given the backstory of the Ashwicke Gallery, it really gives a vibe.
So that was weird. The AI having a little fun and waving to me was not what I expected. This got me wondering what would happen if I tossed all the images into the local video generation system. What lurking shadow would emerge out of it?
The video is weird. I brought out a number of the stills for a photo gallery.
The Ashwicke is a weirdly odd and wonderful place.
Interesting in learning more about the Ashwicke Gallery? I wrote about the origin of the Ashwicke Gallery here, which covers what inspired it and how it came to be.
The Ashwicke Gift Gallery
If you visit The Breakers, there’s a gift shop that has all manner of things. One of those things is a postcard. This is the way people signaled of their adventures before smart phones. What if you could relive a little bit of this past magic and obtain a postcard from the Ashwicke Gallery?
