Summer Into AI 2026: AI Video of a Pixelated British Kraken

In this idea, what I was going with was another video generation sample with the idea that I’d bring together multiple styles and fuse them together into one episode. This failed, and yet it’s so weird that it’s captivating. There’s a tremendous amount of hidden detail in these frames.

For the second attempt (and last one sadly, the video budget is blown), I attempted to bring together several different styles into one assembled construct. It didn’t work, and yet it did produce a really interesting work. If you’re familiar with what John’s World has brought to us here on substack, then you’ll recognize more than Danny-there’s Sabrina, her car, and Vivienne even makes an appearance.

While Adam’s submission definitely is clearly evident, what might be less so is that I even brought in Heather’s bird-related submission.

When Danny gets pulled in to the TV by Paul Revere, the mallrat gets picked up by a Sky King eagle and then Revere and Danny go on to fight the British Kraken that rises up out of the harbor. When Danny gets thrown out of time by the Kraken’s tentacled arm, Sabrina arrives in her beater car to give Revere a ride out.

You may need a moment to re-read that last assembly of words-the sentences there in the quote above. That concept has never existed before. There’s magic that happens when something like this gets pulled together. It could be an entire series-and would be if or when video generation drops in price by a factor of 10.

What I learned

There’s something that borders on magical when you start building on other people’s creative contributions to civilization.

In fact, I need to get in the habit of doing this more regularly. Not just being inspired by something else-but finding something recently made, and using that as input to build up something even more. There’s a timing to creating and building things-and there’s something about building on and extending the creativity force in the time in which it happens .

This may sound odd, but here’s a simple example. Take one of the ideas that you see in the two videos and riff on it in your own creative work. You may find it triggers a new creative insight that you didn’t have before. After all, when was the last time Paul Revere and a British Kraken emerging from the ocean while a 1995 flannel wearing mallrat riding an eagle watched from a dock?
