Agent Guides · Advisory Hour Note

Teamwork Is a Practice, Not a Transaction

A small but important operating reminder: agentic AI systems get better when you deliberately coach them instead of treating every prompt as a one-off purchase order.

The note

What they don’t tell you is that the more you use an agentic ai system and intentionally coach those agents, the more surprise and delights you’ll unlock.

Teamwork is a practice not a transaction.

Why this matters

Agentic systems are not just better autocomplete. They become more useful when the human keeps shaping the loop: naming what worked, correcting what drifted, saving the good patterns, and making the next handoff cleaner.

That is why the useful mental model is teamwork. A transaction ends when the output arrives. A practice compounds every time the system learns your standards, your constraints, and your definition of “done.”

Operating pattern

Coach the loop, not just the answer

  • 1 · Name the win
When an agent does something useful, tell it exactly which part was valuable so the pattern can be reused.
  • 2 · Correct the drift
When it misses, describe the missed standard instead of only asking for a retry.
  • 3 · Preserve the practice
Turn repeated wins into checklists, skills, templates, or review gates so the team gets sharper over time.
