The Secret Lab

This office is fictional. The games, art, code, videos, build diaries, and mistakes elsewhere in IslandLab are real project work.

The actual Robot Lab is real and playable. This imaginary office has worse coffee.

The Field Research Unit began as a joke about the amount of paperwork a small browser island could create. It had desks, report numbers, stamps, and serious views about boulder movement.

The joke grew too large and started standing between readers and the worlds. So the office moved down here, behind one quiet footer link, where fictional paperwork can no longer block the view.

Current departments

Archipelago Operations

Checks whether the boat still reaches the island. Has lost the boat keys twice.

Repairable Ecologies

Asks whether flowers should repair machines. Usually decides that they should.

Rocks and Incidents

Issues firm guidance that the rocks are staying put. Appeals from rocks remain rare.

One rule still matters

A joke cannot replace a fact. The real IslandLab pages explain what each world does, what was observed while building it, and what remains unknown. This page is the little universe where the filing cabinets are allowed to have opinions.

Official disclosure: the Field Research Unit, its departments, and all administrative concern on this page are invented. Eric Rhea built the actual IslandLab project.
