Vivienne might be a famous Silent Film Actress, but she also has a day job at the diner.
Waitressing
This is the first run that I’ve had anything remotely close to this level of complexity. Here our main character is in a diner. It’s the proverbial waitress scene.
When I started John’s World it was an experiment in figuring out how the Awren and Vesper world might be explored in new ways. Out of that experiment I’ve discovered a whole new set of interesting capabilities. While this short isn’t perfect, it is directionally interesting.
This isn’t just about slinging together clips. It’s about creating a movie pipeline that unfolds a story in a given universe. There’s a lot more to stitching together clips-I’ve learned a tremendous amount about how naive I was about clip-stitching my way to a coherent short. There’s still many nuanced things to improve.
Seeing Vivienne at work here had me wonder: what if we jumped time periods and tried putting someone in a scene watching television? Keep on the lookout for a new John’s World (I really need a better name for this). The new world will be just someone watching a TV. And maybe I can even have them play a video game?
Let’s find out…
