Field Guide / Character
The Inspector
CharacterFictionalEstablished
The Inspector arrives after things have gone wrong. He reads the damage, contains it, and leaves a record.

Visual notes
- Use the canonical Case File 01 v4 helmet plates for new artwork. The original board remains a record of the earlier design.
- The supplied film notes call for painterly dark science fiction, crisp ink lines, red emergency light, amber accents, and fog.
- He has no speaking mouth. The film uses voice-over; the motto stays in his actions rather than becoming a spoken slogan.
Variants
- Original steampunk board
- The coat, brass details, chronometer, and drone begin here. The original split-face helmet is an earlier design. The World: concept boards
- Case File 01 v4: locked helmet
- One uninterrupted ivory shield covers the front of the black dome. The source pack says this simpler design stopped the face drifting during video generation. Starlight Menagerie

Spoilers and story details
- Case File 01 v4 names the waking Apostate Engine as the cause of the Menagerie’s ruin.
- The source notes identify the escaped service drone as Seven. The Inspector follows its lifeboat toward IslandLab but does not yet know who escaped. This is a connection within the film, not a claim that every project shares a single history.
