Island V4 player guide

Fix three islands. Make some friends.

You are a little repair robot with a big map and a glowing companion named Mote. Sail to each island, learn its trick, and help its guardian wake the world back up.

The Island V4 robot and Mote beside their small ship, looking across a forest island, a volcanic island, and a lagoon island.
One ship, two small explorers, and three islands that need help.
The Explorer Robot practices a pose on the Robot Lab platform while Mote floats nearby.
Robot Lab removes the island so you can see the character clearly.

Before the boat leaves

Meet the robot in Robot Lab.

Robot Lab is a bright practice room. Pick a movement, spin the camera, zoom in, and watch how the robot’s treads, arms, face, and tiny companion work together.

It is part playground and part workshop. You can enjoy the character as a character, then turn on the path lines when you want to see how the motion was built.

How to play

Move, look, act, and listen to Mote.

The game teaches one idea at a time. Follow the glowing marker. Try the nearby switch or platform. If you get lost, open the map.

Move

W A S D moves the robot. Drag the mouse or use touch to look around. Use Shift to glide across longer gaps.

Help

Press E to use switches, stations, notes, and repairs. Jump and stomp when an island asks you to land with a little more authority.

Find the way

Press M for the map. Hold T to return to the ship or the current start area. Press Esc to pause.

  1. 1. ExploreFollow Mote or the glowing route marker from the dock.
  2. 2. PracticeFinish the island’s small lessons and collect its restoration items.
  3. 3. RepairUse the skill you just learned inside the guardian chamber.

Lost or stuck? Open the map with M. If the robot cannot get home, hold T to recall it.

The voyage

What to do on each island.

Every route has twelve restoration items, three lessons, and a guardian. The next island opens when the current guardian is restored.

A nice reward: each restored island adds one heart to your maximum health. Finish all three to earn the Archipelago Gold field accent and complete the campaign.

Guardian walkthroughs

These are repair puzzles, not punching contests.

Each guardian repeats the island’s lesson in a bigger room. Watch the colors, use the environment, and complete three phases.

Canopy Crown

Help Mossback agree with the island.

  1. Follow Mote to the active stone station.
  2. Turn the dial until its gasket locks green, then let go.
  3. Jump and stomp the exposed green core.
  4. Follow the glowing vine back to Mossback.
  5. Hold the repair action until the phase finishes.

Repeat at the west, east, and rear stations. The dial target moves each time. Wait for the green lock instead of guessing.

Emberglass

Match the vent to the bloom.

  1. Find the lit vent switch and press E.
  2. Stand on the lit updraft and jump through it.
  3. Land on the bloom with the matching color before time runs out.
  4. Stay clear of the saws and repeat.

The colors go cyan, gold, then magenta. The final magenta phase needs two matching landings, so look for the next flower as soon as your feet touch the first one.

Tidelight Atoll

Play Bellfin’s song with your feet.

  1. Watch the scanner color.
  2. Jump to the shell with that color and stomp it.
  3. Keep the order. A wrong note restarts the current song.
  4. Avoid the glowing geyser pools between shells.

The songs are cyan, gold, magenta. Then gold, cyan, magenta, gold. The last song is magenta, gold, cyan, magenta, cyan.

For curious builders

What is happening underneath?

The simple version is that Island V4 keeps a little notebook in your browser. It remembers your campaign, expedition, player, and ecology state. When you return, saved ecology readings can move back toward their normal values for up to seven missed days.

The weather and wildlife still follow the island you are standing on. Each island has its own scene and animal profile. The daily “currents” are 48 short reports written ahead of time, then chosen in a predictable daily pattern.

How the V4 world works

The archipelago uses world seed 70431. It contains three islands, eighteen landmarks, six island fauna species, and twelve authored daily currents per island plus twelve archipelago-wide currents.

Weather and lighting read the active scene profile. Wildlife reads the active fauna profile and reacts to the player. Neither system reads the saved ecology values directly. The named ecology phenomena are interface reports selected from saved values, not separate visual simulations.

Wildlife updates the two active island species in one worker at 10 Hz. If a worker frame fails after a successful frame has arrived, the game reuses the last result. There is no separate fallback simulation or player notice.
